ORDERING TIPS
(This page should really be called Tips, Pricing & Ordering Information.)

Depending on design, colors may blend into and disappear onto item embroidered.  Captain Jack's Embroidery will e-mail you before doing any work if there are obvious color conflicts.  Many of the designs have special notes, e.g., "Light Fill"; "Best applied to light or white item".

Small designs (less than 6 inches wide) will not look well on the back of a large garment unless lettering is applied.  Likewise, designs larger than 5 inches wide begin to wrap under the arm if placement is on the front of a button up split shirt or jacket.

Occasionally, some of our customers are having so much fun looking at the designs, that we are requested to apply a 6" design in a 3" space.  2½" is approximate maximum width for sleeve application.  Changing sizes of designs will often cause distortion.

MONEY SAVER:  Lettering is charged by adding the stitch count to the design's stitch count and then the pricing formula is calculated.  Many embroidery companies make an insane amount of money off of the fonts based on number (#) of letters multiplied (x) by the size.  Example: 1" lettering at $1.00 per letter using the phrase "FOR THIS EXAMPLE" would cost $14.00.  Captain Jack's Embroidery, using the stitch count method, may only increase the project by $5.00.  In some circumstance, may not change the price at all.

Embroidery is not easily applied to spandex.  Spandex is most often worn when involved in strenuous activities.  To embroider spandex, a backing to stabilize the material is required.  Two distinct problems with embroidering spandex: 1, the larger the design, the greater the distortion of the item when worn, and 2, the larger the item, the backing increases retained heat.  Spandex embroidery should be limited to small designs and logos.  Captain Jack's Embroidery cannot process orders on spandex at this time.

Email your request to
webmaster@threads-ahoy.com (recommended).

If you found an item on SHIRTsupplier.com or other sites, you may want to include the link to the item in your email.  This is not necessary.  Just included the item #, size, and color, and we will search the item, if you wish for us to order the attire for you?  Links may link the page with several items, but not the specific item.

After reviewing a price request for an order, a price quote will be emailed back to the customer.  Price will include, set-up fees, S&H (currently included), sales tax (not exactly included, CJE pays it), garment and embroidery.  Payment method will be discussed after work is accepted by the customer, i.e., check, m.o., virtual token on eBay.  Let's just get the job done, and worry about payment, later.  Kewl beans?
