Instead of embroidering PROUDLY SERVED/RETIRED, these sailors put their aircraft carriers' battle group name with corresponding nomenclature, e.g., USS ENTERPRISE/CVN-65 or USS JOHN F KENEDY/CV-67. Just completed one for a retired sailor with USS RANDOLPH/CV-15. Wow! The aircraft carrier that recovered astronaut, John Glen, when he splashed down in the 1960s.
